The lodge is taking reservations now. Please identify yourself as part of the block of rooms under Atlanta Classic Thunderbird Club. The hotel provides a very nice breakfast included in the room rate.

ACTC will have use of the hospitality room all weekend.

We have two locations to caravan to Highlands, NC via Clayton, GA. Bring your CB set to channel 22.
East Group 10:00 AM departure. We will meet at the Walmart parking lot at Exit 4 to the right off of I-985. The address is: 3795 Buford Drive, Buford, GA 30519. This caravan group will be driving north via I-985 to Clayton, GA.
West Group 8:30 AM departure. We will meet at the Quik Trip at I-575 Exit 11 at Sixes Road. The address is: 4865 Old Highway 5, Canton GA 30115. If you are northbound on I-575, the station will be on the right when you reach the end of the exit ramp. It will be across Sixes Road within sight of the exit ramp. This caravan group will be driving north via I-575 thru north Georgia to Clayton, GA.
There may be groups traveling earlier to Highlands. Some may meet us at the restaurant in Clayton. Please communicate what your plans are so we do not leave you behind.
Both east and west groups will drive to Clayton, GA for lunch at the Universal Joint. The address is: 109 N Main St., Clayton, GA 30525. The telephone number is (706) 782-7116. We should be at the restaurant for an 11:30 AM lunch reservation which is when the restaurant will open. The menu includes great hamburgers, fries and tots as well other items to please everyone.
After lunch at the Universal Joint, we will make the final leg to Highlands, NC.
The afternoon is free for shopping or leisure.
Dinner Friday night will be at the The Log Cabin restaurant located on the grounds of the Highlands inn Lodge. The telephone number is (828) 526-5777. We have a 5:15 PM departure for dinner at 5:30 PM. The restaurant is at the top of the hill from hotel. Even though it is close, you may want to drive as it is a steep walk up the drive.
The menu includes a variety of entrees and salads to please everyone.
After dinner we will spend time in the Hospitality Room. Members can bring snacks and drinks and Alcohol is BYOB

Saturday is the annual Highlands Olde Mountain Christmas Parade. We have a 9:50 AM departure from the hotel to be at the Professional Building on South Street at 10:00 AM where we will stage our cars. The parade will start promptly at 11:00 am. Many cars will be decorated with creative wreaths, bows, etc.
The children along the parade route will be looking for candy. The Chamber of Commerce has asked that no one throw candy during the parade. Due to the safety of the children who have in the past run into the parade route to pick up candy and have almost been struck by vehicles. We may bring candy for the children but must have someone walking to hand it out. Dog treats are also appreciated.
The parade does not allow anyone other than the parade Santa to wear a Santa costumes, including masks. Please do not wear any of these before or during the parade. Santa hats are acceptable. Also, please keep your cars moving and do not stop to chat or get out of your car during the parade.
We will return to the hotel following the parade route to regroup, remove decorations, etc. We have a 12:00 PM departure from the hotel for lunch at the Whiteside Brewery, 128 Hwy 107 N, Cashiers, NC 28717. (828) 743-6000 This is a lovely 20 minute drive from the hotel. Our reservation is 12:30 PM. Whiteside Brewery will hold tables for our group. Service is a walk up window to order and pay for your food. Servers then deliver your order to your table.
After lunch can be spent shopping or leisure.
Saturday night we will have dinner and our Annual Christmas Party in the Hospitality Room beginning with socializing and eating at TIME TBD around football game(s). We will be ordering pizza from Mountain Fresh Grocery for dinner. They have a variety of toppings to choose from that will provide something for everyone. Gluten free is available if requested by a member. The cost for pizza and delivery will be approximately $ 10.00 per person which will be collected that weekend.
Members can bring hors d’oeuvres, snacks and desserts to share. Please contact Debbie Wood to let her know what you will be bringing or to get needed items to bring. The club will provide paper cups, plates, napkins, etc. for the weekend. Drinks and Alcohol will be BYOB.
Please bring a gift for the gift exchange for each person that will be participating in the exchange. Gifts can be labeled for man or woman but do not have to be if you do not want to. Gifts should not exceed $20. The funnier, the better if that is your desire. Some gifts from prior years will be re-gifted, and some will be practical. Your choice on what to bring.
We will have the annual gift exchange with Richard Goodroe as the emcee for the gift exchange. He always does a fine job!

Cupboard Café serves wonderful country breakfasts in large portions. They also have an extensive gift shop for browsing.
Earlier or later departures will be planned as well.
